Will AI Assistants Recommend Your Business?

When someone asks an assistant “who does website design in Cavite?” or “best Shopify developer for a small store”, the answer is assembled from pages the model has read or can fetch. Your site is either usable as a source or it is not.

What assistants can actually use

• Plain statements of fact. A sentence like “We are a family dental clinic in Cebu City, open Monday to Saturday” can be quoted directly. A headline like “Your smile, our passion” cannot.
• Structured data. Schema.org markup tells a machine your business type, location, hours, services and contact details without it having to guess from layout.
• Consistent details. If your phone number or address differs between your site, your footer and your markup, the model has no reason to trust any version.
• Pages it is allowed to read. Some sites block AI crawlers in their robots file — sometimes by accident. If GPTBot, Google-Extended and PerplexityBot are blocked, you are not in the running.

What does not help

You cannot pay to be recommended, and there is no markup that forces a mention. Stuffing a page with “best web designer” does the opposite of what you want. The goal is narrower and more achievable: when the assistant does discuss your category, your business is one it can describe accurately and point a user toward.

A short checklist

• Every important fact about your business exists as a plain sentence somewhere on the site.
• Organisation and, if relevant, LocalBusiness structured data is present and correct.
• Name, address and phone match everywhere they appear.
• Your robots file allows the main AI crawlers.
• An llms.txt file summarises what you do, where, and how to get in touch.
• You have checked what the assistants currently say about you — and it is right.
